Event Name: FXOPEN Drift Challenge Sponsored by: FXOPEN Organised by: DJ Impact Event Management Supported by: Drift.com.my Official TV Station: TV3 Venue: Melaka International Motorsports Circuit, Durian Tunggal, Melaka Date: 8th-9th August 2009 Time: 9:00am-5:00pm (Saturday), 8:00am-5:00pm (Sunday) Spectators' Charges (per day): RM5 grandstand; RM10 grandstand + pitpass Entry Fees - Per drifter: RM200 - Maximum of 50 participants Schedule Saturday AM 9.00 Registration and scrutineer 9.30 Open practice PM 12.00 Lunch break 1.00 Drift demo 1.30 Open practice 5.00 Track close Sunday AM 8.00 Open practice 10.00 Driver briefing 10.30 Qualifying PM 12.30 Lunch break 1.30 Driver briefing and best 16 announcement 2.00 Best 16 parade 2.30 Best 16 3.30 Best 8 4.00 Best 4, concession and finals 5.00 Prize giving Competition Format - Competition will be judged according to speed/throttle opening, drift angle, and lining. - 2 judged runs will be given to all participants, best score out of the 2 runs will be evaluated and participants with the best 16 scores will proceed to Tsuiso round. - Best 16 participants will be paired up against each other according to their position in the qualifying round. 1 vs 16, 2 vs 15, 3 vs 14, and so on. - One warm-up run will be given prior to Tsuiso run. No warm-up will be given for Sudden Death. Participant with the higher qualifying position will start in front. - 3rd and 4th place will be decided with a concession round. 5th to 8th place will be based on qualifying score for drivers eliminated in the best 8 round. - Winners will receive cash prizes and trophies as follow: 1st place: RM6000 2nd place: RM3500 3rd place: RM2000 4th place: RM1000 5th-8th place: RM300 - Judges decision is final. No protest will be entertained. Rules and Regulations - All participants will be required to attend the drivers’ meet prior to the competition. - All participants’ vehicle must carry the official sponsor sticker to be placed on both sides of the vehicle, together with the competition number. Sticker size is 250mm x 400mm. - All participants’ vehicle must pass the scrutinizing prior to the competition, all stickers placement, vehicle and required equipments will be checked. - Full face helmets are REQUIRED. Helmets must be in good condition and worn at all times in the track, with the neck strap securely tightened. - A minimal of 2-inch 4-point harness are REQUIRED and must be worn at all times in the track. Buckle can be of turn-style or push-button quick release. Drivers will be disqualified if found unbelted. - Racing suit, driving gloves and shoes are REQUIRED. - A roll cage with minimal of 6-point is REQUIRED. - Tow hooks are REQUIRED on both the front and rear of the vehicle. - Battery must be securely tighten with the positive terminal insulated. - All loose items in the vehicle must be cleared or secured. - Brake lights must be working. - No oil leaks of any kind will be tolerated. - Semi-slicks and full-slicks are NOT allowed. If you have doubt about the tire, please seek advice from the organisers. - Driver side window must be up at all times in the track. - The organiser reserves the right to decline entry or disallow a vehicle to enter the track if the vehicle is found unsafe. - Please follow strictly the instructions of the marshalls and organisers. Participants with bad discipline will be disqualified. No refunds will be given.
